We have TEETH!

Lily has cut her first 2 teeth! I basically feel her gums every day to see if any teeth are coming through and it finally happened! Yesterday Lily's first tooth poked through and today I felt the second one. Before I told anyone I wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy, so I had Ryan feel. Today I got more confirmation from Miss Betty who said she also saw them sticking out. I can't wait until they are all the way in so I can get a cute tooth picture!

NYC came to Butler

The day after Valentine's Day we had a great visit from some college friends. Rosenthal, Kagan, and Alli came to meet Lily for the first time and hang out for the day. We haven't seen them since August, so it was great catching up. Kagan and Alli just moved in together and we can't wait for the warmer weather to bring Lily into the city and see their new place. Thanks for coming to hang out guys, we had a great time!

Sydney came over for a play date so I had to show off my shades again
After our play date with Sydney we went to visit GG and Poppy because GG just had surgery on her rotater cuff. We thought a visit from Lily, and of course my home cooking, would be a great cure.

Valentine's Week

On Wednesday I had a girls' night out with Meghan, Maggi, and Janell. We went to a wine tasting at Pane Vino and had a great time! We got to try about 6 different wines, it's catered by a really good Italian restaurant, and to top off the night I pulled my ticket to win the last bottle of wine in the raffle!! It was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to another night out with you girls!

Lily had a busy Valentine's weekend as well. She started off with her school party at Miss Betty's. Thanks Kathryn for the adorable outfit! Lily brought little heart pads and markers for all of her valentines and she got some really cute ones (that Ryan and I enjoyed!) from her friends at school. Unfortunately I had to leave school early to take Lil to the doctors because she wasn't feeling well. She had had a cold for about a week and a half so the doctor decided it could be a sinus infection and put her on amoxicillan. It worked like a charm and Lily was doing much better by the weekend.
Ready for my party at Miss Betty's!
Grandmom Suzie came up on Friday to babysit Saturday night so Ryan and I could enjoy a night out by ourselves. Friday night Aunt Meghan came over and the girls went out to dinner while Ryan had a guy's night with his dad and brother. The waiters loved Lily and she was such an angel just sitting in her carseat hanging out while we ate. On Saturday Grandmom and I took Lily to Gymboree. I was upset that our regular teacher, Ms Elizabeth, wasn't there, so the class wasn't as good as usual. Lily still had a great time though! After Gymboree, we met Aunt Meghan at the mall for lunch and walked around for a bit. Saturday night Ryan and I had a great dinner at Piccolo's. Of course we talked about Lily practically the whole time we were there, but it was nice to go out alone.

First Day at Daycare :(

Sunday afternoon we had a relaxing day with family and friends. We went over to Janell and Cormac's so Lily and Kiley could play together for a little. When we got home Lily decided to take a nap, so mom and dad joined her! Later, Uncle Jesse and Mike came over for a visit and dinner. It was great to see them both and they were happy to spend time with Lily. After the boys left we had a lot to do to get Lily ready for her first day of daycare; something I was definitely not looking forward to. I had a mini breakdown while I was typing up Lily's info to send with her, but Ryan helped me through it!

Ryan dropped Lily off at the sitter's and picked her up because I had a meeting after school. Of course I called at lunchtime to check on her and Betty said Lily was doing great! She decided to skip some of her naps because she was so interested in what all of the other kids were doing. She's definitely a people watcher! Wonder where she gets that from... :) I'm sure the rest of the week will go well...89 school days until summer vacation.

Dylan Turns 1!

On Saturday we got to celebrate Dylan's 1st Birthday. I cannot believe he is already 1!!! This year flew by for us, I can only imagine how his mommy and daddy are feeling. Jen and Steve threw Dylan a fabulous party at the clubhouse. They had a woman come and do a music show for all of the kids. Lily was a little tired during the party, so I don't think she enjoyed it to her fullest extent. She did have a great time though!

When we got home from the party Aunt Meghan was waiting for us to babysit Lily for the night. She helped us feed Lily her cereal and entertained her while Ryan and I got ready to go out for the night. We had a wonderful night out with our friends Cormac and Janell. Janell and I have become good friends since we met through our neighborhood Mommy and Me group. They have a 6 1/2 mo. old daughter, Kiley. We went to a great wine bar and Italian restaurant in Franklin Lakes, but we were paying for it the next day with a hangover! Good thing Aunt Meghan was still here to help play with Lily when Mom and Dad weren't feeling so hot. :)

Week with Daddy

Well it finally happened....I went back to work. Lily and Daddy had a week of fabulous bonding when I went back and it definitely made it easier on me knowing that Lily was in good hands at home. Ryan kept them busy with trips to Gymboree and lunch outings. He even did the laundry, cleaned the house, and made dinner every night! It was such a delight to come home to. Even though I missed Lily terribly, work did go very well. The kids I'm teaching are wonderful and the school is exactly what you picture an elementary school to be. I'm even teaching Ryan's cousin, Christina! It's nice to see a familiar face every day. :) I'm sure it will get easier and easier to go to work every day, but I'm already counting down the days to summer vacation. :)

Yummy Cereal!

We decided to start Lily on her rice cereal because every time we ate or drank anything Lily was reaching for it and trying to eat and drink it herself. She did a great job on her first try. She was opening her mouth for the spoon and swallowed about 75% of the cereal. She got a little frustrated because we weren't moving fast enough with the spoon, so while I was scooping it in, Ryan was entertaining her with her singing puppy and a variety of toys. Here are a few pics of her first experience with cereal.

I want more!!!!

On Saturday night I babysat for Madelyn and we decided to make a play date out of it. I took Maddie over to the Andersen's to play with Nola and Ryan brought Lily over to hang out. The girls were sooo cute together. I can't wait until Lily is old enough to run around with them. I have a feeling they will keep us all very busy!
